Exxon in Charleston (2514 Clements Ferry Rd)

Finally got around this. About a month ago I pulled in to this location to fill the SUV's tank. Popped in my Amex card on the pump, entered the zip code associated with the card and the display messaged I had to go inside to "see attendant". So I did and was asked by the cashier how much I wanted to charge. I replied that I wanted to fill the tank so I didn't have an amount. The cashier said he had to have an amount first. I wasn't paying cash so why was I being? Did they not accept Amex or was there an issue with my credit card such as possible fraud or exceeding credit line? He said they took Amex but advance pay was their policy. He said he had to have the amount first. I replied... Well my policy as Mr. Customer is not to be inconvenienced and I can buy gas anywhere. So I'll go elsewhere (and did!).

Why are the prices here so high when surrounding gas stations are sometimes 30 cents cheaper?!?!?

Busy most of the time - Highway & entrances and exits are always congested ~ but it’s the only gas station for miles around

Paltry coffee bar. Speedways are 10X better.

This is one of the slackest Exxon's I have been to. The floors are filthy and the bathrooms reeked. The Bojangles connected to it was just as bad with filthy, I cleaned tables. The only reason I stopped here was to wait out the 5 pm traffic. I will not come back here.
