Alon in Big Bend National Park (SH-118)

Well, this station is really old. It’s ok but it is REALLY expansive. You will get your gas here (and there is even a small convenience store which offers basic stuff inkl. food) but I’d suggest you get gas in Fort Stockton if you’re coming in from north or in Van Horn if from the West. But be aware that those towns are rather far from Big Bend. There is gas on the ways from this station to Fort Stockton & Van Horn but it’s also expansive (E.g. Marfa, TX). See if you can safely make it to Van Horn or Fort Stockton with the gas you have and only top up the amount you need to go there at this station (plus a little for emergencies). The other stations around here are also expansive in this area since there aren’t many. So get the gas you need here but fill up in Van Horn & Fort Stockton. I would also like to mention that there’s decent WiFi (free) available here (in contrast to cellular connection which simply does not exist here.
