My gas powered vehicle doesn’t like Kroger gas. I have been there several times and my check engine light comes on shortly afterwards

I was pumping gas at 9:57pm and they shut their parking lots ligh ts off. They are open till 10pm and I believe it's a safety issue to shut down while customers are on the lot
