Shell in Chicago (2816 W Irving Park Rd)

Sucked in by the 2.55 price for reg w/ wash. As i started fueling noticed sign on pump stating "Car Wash Out of Order." So 2.85 it is.

the car wash here leaves your car dirtier than it was before you went in

I used this station frequently in the past and I came to know and appreciate the attendant. I'm not sure if there is different ownership but the pumps never issue a receipt and I must go into the station to get the receipt. Also, on two recvent occasions I have been trapped in the car wash when the exit door failed to open and despite my honking the horn I had to get out of my car, wade through a couple inches of water, and manually press a button on the wall to open the door. The new attendant seemed disinterested when I told him.

The pumps are really slow. If you need a full tank, pack a lunch.

Car wash does not do a goiod job cleaning your car. but it is winter and touchless car washes dont do a good job on fiirst pass you have to ask for a second go around.

Car wash is terrible - skip it! Also, you'll be lucky if there is an attendant around at all.
