Pioneer in Ajax (1 Harwood Ave S)

this station is the always cheapest in the Ajax after 9pm

It's definitely one of my go to gas stations because of the lower prices of reg gas. I also like to go where I can collect points or $.

Way to busy. There is a Tim Hortons with a drive-through. There is always alot of traffic and many drivers are in a hurry and trying to cut through the gas station area to get to Tim's. There is some pedestrian traffic. Location is great.

I support Pioneer and smaller retailers because they put downward pressure on prices. They are the "competition" to the big brands. The big brand stations post lower prices for regular to look like they're competing, but they keep prices for mid and premium at their high prices. Rotten tricks. If it weren't for places like Pioneer, no one would drop their prices.

The gas price is usually the cheapest out of the main brands; Esso, Petro, and Shell, to be exact; although there is the odd time Shell is the same price or even more rare 1 or 2 cents less. BUT generally, Pioneer has the best prices for gas, and maintains the lower gas price until about 5a.m., whereas all the other competitors hike their's at midnight, daily. NOT TO MENTION they have the best prices on cigarettes, with certain brands having great discounts if you snag two packs at a time. For example, 2 packs of Belmont, Small (20 pack), Regular (or King size) are about $32, making each pack of 20 Belmont $16 ea., roughly. not to mention certain types of Marlboro are something like $12 a pack of 20, just buying one. This specific brand doesn't have a multi pack deal. If I'm getting Canadian Classic Original, I usually, just stick to one pack, because the discount on 2 packs is only $1 or $2 dollars, in comparison to $5 off buying 2 Belmonts.

Tim Hortons in the next door in the area, with a shared drive thru thru 3 entry/exit drives. Tight spaces btwn pumps….Lots of traffic between the small driveways btwn the gas station & Tim Hortons
