My husband is in the ER, and I wanted to get a soda while I waited for him to he discharged. It's 1:30 am mind you. The woman behind the counter was so very sweet, and very kind - asking me if I need help while I'm schlepping my infant around the store in his car seat. This was so meaningful to me, given that I'm in a scatterbrained and frazzled state. Little acts of kindness can really make an impact.
