BOSTON — May 23, 2017 — GasBuddy, the only smartphone app connecting drivers with their Perfect Pit Stop, has partnered with G&M Oil Co., one of Southern California’s leading operators of company-owned fueling stations and convenience stores, to give away thousands of dollars worth of free fuel to GasBuddy members who are active military and veterans at a G&M location in the San Diego County, California on May 25.
In recognition of Memorial Day, GasBuddy and G&M have come together for a special ‘Tank’ You for Your Service GasBuddy Tank Takeover Event, where representatives from both companies will surprise active military and veterans who have the free GasBuddy app downloaded and a GasBuddy profile created with upwards of $20 worth of fuel per vehicle. The exact G&M location will be revealed the morning of the event.
“Memorial Day is a time to honor those who have sacrificed for our country,” said Michael DiLorenzo, vice president of marketing at GasBuddy. “GasBuddy and G&M want to make it as easy as possible for active military, veterans and their families to get to where they need to be during the busiest driving season of the year.”
San Diego is a military town with approximately 80,000 military personnel in the county. G&M previously partnered with GasBuddy for similar events in Los Angeles and Orange County.
This is based on GasBuddy’s successful Tank Takeover events that have taken place in various cities including Houston, Charlotte, Denver, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. Thousands of people attended each event to receive free fuel, forming lines around the block.
