GasBuddy Announces New E85 Fuel Type Feature

February 10, 2016

BOSTON -- (Feb 10, 2016) -- GasBuddy, the largest community-based gas price comparison app, announced its new E85 station search feature. Drivers will now be able to find the nearest station offering E85 (a fuel blend of 85% denatured ethanol and 15% gasoline), as well as report and compare prices.

"As alternative fuels have become more prevalent over the years, E85 was a popular request from our users," said Jason Toews, co-founder of GasBuddy. "Saving drivers money at the pump is our number one goal, and now with the addition of E85 to our fuel types, this means more people will have an opportunity to save no matter type of motor juice you use."

The new GasBuddy feature caters towards a rising demographic of motorist. There are over 3,500 stations in the U.S. offering E85, and that number is continuously growing as there are currently over 17 million flex-fuel vehicles on the road capable of using this grade of fuel.

To update a station that offers E85, users of the app can simply click on the station, choose "Add a Fuel Type," and then select "E85." From there, the user can update the price the same way as the other fuel types, which will help fellow flex-fuel drivers find the cheapest place to fill up on E85.
