The launch of Trip Cost Calculator, a revolutionary tool to help consumers plan their road trips; know where to fill-up at the best prices and how much they will spend on fuel for the entire journey.2010
The launch of the app. Now drivers can check and enter gas prices anywhere, instantly making GasBuddy more accurate and useful.Based on the GasBuddy algorithm, launched Price Hike Alerts to notify users via email (now as a push notification) that gas prices are increasing in their neighborhoods.
Launched the Blog, where petroleum analysts provided fuel insights, made predictions as to where prices are heading, and gave tips on how to save money on gas.
2013
Launched the Daily Drawing, rewarding one lucky user everyday with $100 in gas money.2015
Held the first Tank Takeover event, where we took over a gas station in Los Angeles and surprised drivers by filling up their cars for free. Tank Takeovers have occurred through the years in multiple U.S. cities.Launched Challenges, a fun way for users to earn more points and free gas in the app by completing various tasks like “report a price” or “rate a station.”
2016
Created the ability to filter gas stations based on amenities. Introduced Price Spread into the app, showing the price difference and potential savings between the lowest and highest gas station in the area.2017
Launched Pay with GasBuddy® a savings program where drivers automatically receive up to 25¢/gallon discount when swiped at the pump, making saving money on gas easier and more accessible.2018
My Car feature launched in the app to provide outstanding vehicle recall information, and an easy way to track fuel usage. Park with GasBuddy also goes live making it possible for users to receive free gas for booking already-discounted parking directly in the GasBuddy app.Introduced Premium Membership, perfect for high-mileage drivers. For a low monthly subscription fee, members receive up to 40¢/gal in savings on every fill up and roadside assistance.
2019
Announced GasBack®, a marketplace where users can earn free gas credit from everyday purchases at participating retailers in the GasBuddy app.2020
Launched the Deal Alerts feature, like a flash sale for gasoline, it provides drivers below-advertised gas prices that are uniquely tailored to the individual based on factors such as location, retailer- and partner-funded discounts.Learn more
